近所で買い物帰りに気軽に映画が観れたら。日常の中で、もっと身近に映画があったら。
「一番街シネマ」は、そんな考えから生まれた月に一度の映画上映会です。
8月の上映作品は、横浜のお隣・逗子市で2016年1月にスタートした、未就学児と哲学する「こども哲学教室」の様子を一年間追いかけたドキュメンタリー。”真剣なのになんだかおかしい、哲学する子どもたちの成長記録”を観て、私たちも「考えるってどういうことだろう？」と振り返る時間にしたいと思います。

4歳から6歳のこどもたちが、哲学対話を続けた1年間のドキュメンタリー。
海と山に囲まれた神奈川県南部のちいさな町、逗子。この町に住む川辺洋平は、NPO法人こども哲学・おとな哲学アーダコーダを立ち上げ、2014年から日本全国で哲学対話の普及に取り組んでいる。そんな活動のひとつとして、2016年1月から未就学児と哲学する「こども哲学教室」が逗子でスタートした。哲学ってなんだろう。そもそも「かんがえる」ってどういうことだろう。それすらも手探りのおとなと、10人のこどもたちが、はじめて会った日からの1年間をドキュメンタリーでおいかけた。真剣なのになんだかおかしい、哲学する子どもたちの成長記録。

“No.1 Street Cinema” is a monthly film screening organised by Fujidana Department, a new venue in Fujidana Shopping Street. Our kitchen is for people like future cafe owners who want to try out the business before they rent their own place, and for cooking teachers who need space to have lessons.
Each month we pick a film we can relate to and try to have time to discuss it with each other. At the counter you can buy our coffee made from beans specially roasted for us, or other drinks such as tea and lassi.

“Why is the glass so hard?” “Why does the universe exist?” “Is money really necessary for us?” I wonder when we stopped asking such questions, even though we all did when we were tiny philosophers. “Philosophy for Children” is a program that parents and kids do philosophical dialogue. The method was developed by Dr. Lipman of Colombia University in the 70’s, and now it’s spreading to all over the world.
Ardacoda is a Japanese organization that supports adults, children, teachers, and anyone who want to do philosophical dialogue.
The Director, Hanae Uchida, is a well-known film director who has been taking documentary for years. In this film, she traced a group of children between 4 to 6 years of age over a year in 2016 to capture their philosophical dialogues.
We observed distinctive changes among parents and children by experiencing philosophical dialogue.
We believe it’s crucial to build a society where diverse opinions are welcomed.
Doing philosophical dialogue might have been a small yet very valuable experience for the children.
After watching this film, you may recall that you were also a tiny philosopher in the old days.
